Yay! Today is my birthday. I woke up not feeling the greatest-stomach seemed to feel gross after eating anything, yet I was so hungry...so frustrating! Anyway, I pushed on because I knew we had some fun things planned. First up for our day was one of Hailey's preschool playdates. We knew that her teacher, as well as a few of the regulars were on vacation so we were expecting a light crowd. Ha...try we were the only ones there!!! That is until a new family, who was just signing up, came past. They stayed for all of 10 minutes and then head out. We had our picnic lunch, played a bit, and rode the bike around. It was fun. Then we headed back home. Again, since I had just eaten lunch my stomach was on edge. Brian and Hailey spent some time in the playroom, allowing her to make me a card. Then they left me by my lonesome while they ran to the store to get a few last minute items for my bday dinner. Some quiet ME time...wow, I didn't know what to do with myself at one point, lol. I played around on the computer some, sat outside in the sun, and then what did I decide to do on my birthday!?! I cleaned the living room, did the dishes, and cleaned the playroom!!! Silly me....oh well!
When Brian and Hailey came home Brian gave me the most perfect bday gift possible...pretty flowers and one of my favorite Starbucks drinks! You gotta love him! <3
Our next stop was the Les Gove splash park. I broke the rules a bit to get to go here, lol. Last night we told Hailey if she slept well, we would be able to go to the splash par. Well.....she didn't. I was bummed and, maybe acted a bit childish about it, lol. Hailey was such a good girl today and was so lovey. So...I told her that it was my birthday and going to the splash park is what I wanted to do. On top of that, I told her that I appreciated her being such a good girl and that's why we were going tot he splash park. Okay...maybe not breaking the rules..just bending them a bit ;-) We spent at least an hour if not more there and we all had a fun time (me sitting out in the sun watching Hailey and Brian have fun in the water-I did go in for a bit, just my feet, and then a final run through a sprayer just like I promised Hailey!)

The last part of my special day was my bday dinner. Brian bbq up some ribs, corn on the cob, and potato salad. Mmmmmm, it was soooo yummy! We ate picnic style out on the grass-(1) because I enjoy picnics and the sun, and (2) it was cooler outside than it was inside the house!!! We let out stomachs rest for a bit and gain room for the cake, that Brian made, and some ice cream.
What a great birthday! It was the absolute perfect day for me :-) (Unfortuntaely, this day did make me another year older. But on the bright side, I'm not quite as old as I was trying to make myself be. (I forgot how old I truly was(was trying to make myself an extra year older) What is it they say-- the mind is the first to go!?! LOL Oh well!
