Hailey's First Flight

Try #1 was unsuccessful for Hailey's first flight. The problem...the airplane was nowhere to be found.  So, today was try #2...a very successful attempt! After having a playdate with Stacy and her kids, Kaden and Lexi, Hailey and I rushed home to relax and then have some dinner before the 'main event'.  After dinner, all three of us drove out to Boeing Field where we met my brother Chris.

Hailey-and Brian for that matter, were a bit nervous as we started taxiing out to the runway.

But once we were up in the air, they both had a great time. I should say that Hailey absolutely loved it!! My brother flew us around Seattle and the outlying areas for about 30 minutes before heading back and landing at Boeing Field. Hailey had fun talking on the headsets (once she realized she could talk and her herself in them, we heard her tiny voice come on and say "I love you"-so cute!

Do you think she's excited about flying!?!? ;-)

Great flight Uncle Chris!
The trusty plane that took us up
Once we landed Christopher asked Hailey if she was going to be a pilot when she grew up and she said "I was thinking about that one!" lol What a character!! ;) She also told Uncle Chris that now we can come out to the airplane and fly with him any time we want...never mind that it is extremely expensive to use these planes, lol. We taxied back to the North parking lot and Hailey 'helped' Uncle Chris tie the plane down.
Telling Uncle Chris that she's a big helper these days!
Hailey was on such a high, and was so excited about her flight that she reenacted the flight by running around the parking lot with her arms extended, pretending to be an airplane.

We then spent the next 20 minutes or so watching more airplanes and helicopters land and take-off....she did not want to leave! Uncle Chris even sent her home with a gift of sorts...her very own Pilot Logbook to keep track of all of her flights-he even wrote in the flight that we took tonight.
Once we got home, even though it was past her bed time, we played a board game so that Hailey was given enough time to come down from cloud-9 and be ready to actually go to sleep.  Once in bed, I told her to have sweet dreams and she said would because she would be dreaming about flying in airplanes. :) Thanks again to my brother Chris for this exciting adventure-Hailey will never forget it!!!

Here's a cute little video of when we were up in the air.  She's telling me that her tummy was feeling a little bit ticklish, lol.  And then she's so relaxed she's pretending to go to sleep :-) Rest assured that she definitely did NOT fall asleep as she was having too much fun!
