Summer fun

So we have finally had a few nice summer days (meaning no clouds and/or rain...as I write this it is pouring down rain, lol) and we have taken full advantage of them! we've done everything from playing soccer in the yard, blowing bubbles, sprinkler fun, nature walks, and playdates with friends, new and old. We hope the weather takes a permanent turn for the better, and soon, so that we can enjoy more of these summer days!
Here's a bunch of pictures of some of the fun we've been having! Enjoy :-)

Yay for Starbucks! :-)
This look will come back to haunt me  in the teenage years, lol
Mom...stop taking my picture!
We also had a playdate with two of my friends Stacy (and her son Kaden) and Jenny (with her daughter Heidi).  We met at the Centre at Norpoint splash park.  Hailey wasn't a big fan of the splash pad area today, but she was very excited to see and play with Baby Heidi. She talked the whole way home about how Jenny let her hold Baby Heidi and how she wanted a baby sister, lol :-)

On the way back to the car...Hailey told me this tree was the perfect place to take a picture and that she wanted me to take her picture.
The result of my outdoor fun :-/ ...guess I should have reapplied the sunscreen!

Hailey and I both made a new friend this summer too!  We met up with someone from my Mom's board that I frequent.  We  me Jaime, and her daughter Audrey and son Gavin, at Ikea. Hailey did so well marching right up to Audrey and saying "hi, I'm Hailey!".  The girls got along really well. We sat down for lunch and the two girls sat and talked away about what kind of band-aids they get from the doctor (Audrey had just gotten her shots for her 4-year appointment), motorcycles, and all kinds of things.  It was quite cute to listen in on! :-) Then, after lunch the girls said they wanted to play.  This was a shocker, because we have never left Hailey in a store play area before while we go shopping.  But she marched right in there with Audrey and started playing.  Jaime and I got our "pagers" and headed off to shop and talk...wow, how relaxing it was.  Well, we had only been shopping for about 10-15 minutes when my pager went off (actually, I'm surprised it took that long!) And of course we were all the way in the back of the store.  So we headed back and Hailey said that it was too busy in there and she wanted out, lol.  Audrey wanted to continue to play, so we left her there and wandered around the store a bit more. Once we had checked out and had picked Audrey back up, we gave the kids an ice cream treat.  They ate while they jumped on the hopscotch.  Then it was time to go.  Hailey really had fun with Audrey, (as I did with Jaime!) and hopes to be able to have another play date with her sometime soon.

Well...this blog will be long enough, so I will post more of our summer fun on another blog post sometime. Hope everyone else is having a fabulous summer! :-)
