SNOW DAY!!

I'm so excited! The weather forecasters have been predicting snow and it actually happened!!  I was figuring I would get a 2 hour late start out of the deal-boy was I surprised when school was actually canceled for the day! Yes, it means we have to go back for an additional day in June, but come on....it's SNOW!!! :-) Something we don't get a lot of around here, so why not make the best of it!?! Well, our family had a blast today in it. We got dressed in all of our snow gear, grabbed the sled, and walked up to Camelot Elementary School for some snow fun.  And boy did we have fun!  Hailey loved being pulled in the sled just as much as she loved throwing snow balls at us (good thing they had a toilet paper snow day at school so she knew what to do! lol). That part that I loved about the snowball fight was the fact that Hailey would warn us.  She would pick up some snow and then come to us and say "you'd better run, I'm going to throw a snowball at you!" lol.  This is such a fun age :-)
'W' for weather-and we've had some crazy weather lately!
What we woke up to this morning...SNOW!

Daddy's turn to sled down the hill...

Wipeout!
Mommy's turn...eeeeks!!
Hailey's turn...she loved it!!
After we got done with our sledding fun, we walked back home to warm up, have some lunch, and take a nap.  After getting rejuvenated, we headed into the backyard to attempt a snowman. Hailey and I were pretty successful and she named him 'Snowden". Hailey was even generous to the neighbors.  She put snow on the retaining wall next to their fence and said she was making snow-pies for them.  I asked what flavor they were and as she pulled off a leaf from some weeds, she placed it on top and said that they were mint pies :-)  Gotta love her creativity!!

the final mint snow-pie...delish!
Unfortunately, after playing in all of the snow...apparently we've been hit by a virus of some sort.  Hailey woke up the next morning with a fever and ended up throwing up (luckily only once!)  I'm not feeling too great either.  Guess it will be a lazy weekend trying to get over this 'bug' that we have.
talking to Grandpa on the phone and feeling miserable!
